This series just keeps getting better and better and just when I think I have it all figured out, there is a twist and I am surprised again. Adventures outside Paragon become more of a quest for survival rather than sourcing a new hideout for the Rebellion and it causes Alessa to question the validity of their struggle against the Ruling Class and her relationship with Isaac. Origins of how the virus came to be are answered and other secrets that once revealed will change everyone's perception of the battle still to come. This book explored more of Alessa's relationship with Isaac and her unresolved feelings for Joe and their future had he not be taken from her. Riveting Sequel (2nd Book in Trilogy)
Read this book in less than a day. It actually was better than the first book of the trilogy, and I am looking forward to last book in the series. Shudder was artfully written to keep you at the edge of your seat and the last few pages leave you with wanting to know more. You gain a better understanding of the main characters in the 2nd book and what moves them forward. Suspenseful and amazing story line, I recommend this to anyone that enjoys a sense of mystery, good plot, and some twists and turns.
I have cried reading before but until this book......I can't say I have ever shuddered before. There were 2 distinct times I felt myself shudder and without giving anything away all i will say is a must read. The twists and turns..oh my
Not because the monsters are killers the humans are actually making the monster to keep the humans under control. Paragon's leaders are doing all they can to keep their gene pool strong.
I love this storyline!!!!!!! I can't wait for book three. Very gripping story that makes you want more!!!! The characters become real people you end up caring for. A must read. I normally don't like watching movies but I can actually see myself getting excited if it was ever made into a movie! And it's better than a lot of movies I have watched!!!
I enjoyed this book, I found it moved more quickly than the first book in the series. This book also provides a lot of background information that the first book in the series me wondering about. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next book.
After reading the first installment, Stitch, I was eager to get my hands on the 2nd book of the trilogy, Shudder. I enjoyed every page and every chapter and appreciated how suspense was built effectively, keeping me hungry for more. I also liked getting to know Alessa and Issac better in Shudder, I now feel more connected to their characters. The ending WILL NOT disappoint! I cannot wait for the third book to come out! I highly recommend Shudder! Grab your copy and take it to the beach!
I devoured this book in one (looooong) sitting and I bet you will too. Why?
The plot is completely original. Having read a lot of young adult books and watched almost all of the shows on the CW, I feel like I've experienced every type of plot twist that has ever been invented; however, Shudder kept me on edge from start to finish.
Furthermore, the characters are extremely relate-able. In the first book, Stitch, I could really identify with Alessa, as she trudged through the school library and procrastinated on studying. This made the story feel real and exciting to me, even as Alessa progresses through some pretty interesting and fantastical turns in the story. Shudder is gripping for the same exact reasons - I found myself laughing or yelling out loud at times.
Finally, Nikhil is a dreamboat, and one of the reasons I couldn't put this book down was to get to his episodes/chapters to find out what happens to him!
So, cross this book off your summer reading list and pick it up immediately. It'll leave you "shuddering" for the next installment!
